tabloids and print classifieds only to be disappointed in the
results? Many musicians experience the same difficulties

or search other musicians profiles by instrument or location.
There are only a few such sites but they are easy to find
under the search terms I mentioned before. They are all
different in regard to the features, benefits and costs
associated with membership. Some are very basic with a simple
profile and contact link while others offer photo uploads,
detailed bio's, anonymous email and even "Instant messaging".
A couple sites that come to mind are Mojam.com with a simple
text bio and contact link (membership is free) and Zipjam.com
which is a fully interactive site with photos, video, instant
messaging, blind email and forums (free profile, full
membership $12.00 per year). It is a good idea to register at
as many of these sites as you have time for. There are tons of
musicians out there just like you and you can find them in the
musician community sites.
Another option is the "musicians forum". Some are local boards and some
are international. There are many of these and they range in
scope from un-moderated bulletin boards to multi topic
moderated boards. They vary as to size and traffic. Some
boards are quiet and laid back while others are hopping with a
new post only lasting a few hours. There is a lot of worth
while information on these forums relating to all aspects of a
